Unpredictable Journeys

As we went through the semester Dr. Redick told us many stories of his journeys all over and the incredible things he experienced in these places. Many times he would tell a story of his travels and it would involve him saying "woah!", whether it was a rattle snake or bear on the AT, a old Scottish man giving him some cheese, bread, and beer(I think), or something from his daily life like bees attacking him. Whatever the case was on his travels, he experienced unexpected things in nature or with humans. Things that could be good or bad but none the less caused him amazement. In many of these stories Dr. Redick was on a sacred journey of sorts and the amazement he felt I feel called to compare to the amazement constantly talked about in the Bible. The amazement of the followers of Jesus after many if not all of Jesus' teachings. Dr. Redick experienced the amazement of God's work in this world through various vessels and seemingly continues to, I would guess that many of us experience similar amazement in the world no matter what our beliefs the world is amazing and God gives it to us and we are amazed by it!
