Outside Reading #2

12/7/15

For another outside reading, I chose to interpret and discuss a trail journal about the Appalachian Trail that I read on trail journals.com. In this specific post, a woman writes about her family’s adventures while on the Appalachian Trail. The woman writing the post is presumably the mom of the group, and she discusses her love for adventures and thinks of them as famous literatures, comparing her own personal journey on the trail to such works as The Odyssey, The Hobbit, and Harry Potter. She goes on to state that each journey has its own story along with it, and is excited to find out how her own story unravels. She says that each person is set on their own individual quests, and discusses how each member of her family adjusts to life on the trail and aims to accomplish their own goals. Overall, she is excited for her and her family’s anticipated journey on the Appalachian Trail.
