Student Choice #3

December 3, 2015

The media is how we receive all of our news. So what is highlighted? “Donald trump has yet another bad hair day” and “Has Hillary Clinton Worn Too Much Makeup?” While these titles are fake they are not far from what the media highlights. Many things are pushed under the rug and forgotten after only a few days. Recently learning that, at the rate we are currently going, the United States will have more mass shootings (4 or more people) than there are days in the year. Only a few of these are shown a year and the ones that are shown are only important because they involve some sort of racist content. On of the strongest recorded hurricanes crushed Mexico and instead of covering their recovery the media focuses on “Earbud headphones that won’t fall out”. With these points explained it is important to look past the highlighted stories and seek deeper into important news.
