Hello reader,
Welcome to my second topic of personal choice,
The question of the hour being?
Should we fear death?
This is a question unanswered in the minds of many, who continue their lives regularly until death swoops upon them. Truthfully this can be viewed as darker topic, yet I feel it is necessary as it is apart of our lives. Each and every one of us will die, it is an inevitable checkpoint marking the end of our presence here on Earth. It is apart of our human survival instinct to avoid death, to continue the survival of our race and reproduce. Some of us fear it everyday at every turn and ride from home to work, while others relax and say things are in God's hands. Personally, I feel that at this stage in my life I refuse to die, unless something occurred to me outside my control or ability to stop it. Maybe that is because I am still young, and yet to feel satisfied with my accomplishments and experiences in life so far. If my view is true because I am young, then one must wonder how a soldier of my same age can go on knowing they may die with uncompromising bravery and fortitude. I think it is not the age solely; I think it is the mindset one is in. If one lives without regrets and finds they are satisfied and died at that moment, it would alright for them. But for most others, if they regret much, or would like to go on for as long as possible, death is something they avoid thinking about or confronting. No, we should not fear death in our regular lives, it is a silly waste of your worry to do so - even in old age. Death will come to you, you will not know when, if it hunts you and you see it coming then you will naturally fear it's arrival, however mostly it will come as a surprise and you will simply have no time to accept nor deny it. On a final note, live, enjoy your life, value time on this Earth with those around you - time is limited, but it is free.
