1. From:
Mike Bickle, Growing In Prayer
The inner man is the soul. The mind and
emotions make up the man’s soul, thus being referred to in Ephesians 3:14-16 in
The Bible as the inner man. As we have moved through the course, I have begun
to see how one’s inner man is changed through the communication and journeys
that we label as sacred. The act of prayer is one that causes a feeling within
the inner man that can reassure, assist, and develop. Prayer, as a whole,
allows us to continue moving forward while knowing that we are being heard.
Bickle describes this strengthening of the inner man through personal prayer to
The Holy Spirit as one of the highest callings in our life. The communication
highways opened within the context of a sacred journey only increase in number
as we go along. Bickle goes further to explain how people normally see prayer
is only praying for other things, people, or places, but prayer can also be
self-focused. I believe that the sacred journey could be just the place for
true, beneficial self-focused prayer to take hold.
