Prayer 2

Another concept raised by Benson and Wirzba in Phenomenology of Prayer is just the idea of prayer and connection being a necessity. As I mentioned in another post referencing Bickle’s Growing In Prayer, the focused act of prayer is a requirement to receive what you are seeking.

This concept ties into what we have been learning by the act of focusing. On the trail, people that go out and continue to trek through the wilderness must have this similar sense of perseverance. Without it, continuation in the journey becomes much more difficult. However, I believe that this perseverance truly aides in the ultimate goal of the journey. When we see people continue on their journey, searching for the things that are right and well, we also see the success increase in their own hearts and satisfaction.
