Topic of Choosing #3
I found
another online article written by an individual about their top 20 favorite
things that they encountered and experienced along the Camino de Santiago. They begin their list with the ancient Abbey
Church of Vezelay, which has some interesting architectural aspects. The architect who built the church designed
it so that when the sun comes up in the morning the church fills with all kinds
of light because of the placement of the church. Another favorite aspect of the trail was the
endless fields of sunflowers that the hiker sees in Burgundy. Cathedrals are everywhere in Spain and so the
individual notes another one of their favorite cathedrals that they
visited. This one was the Cathedral of
Bourges. This cathedral’s beautiful
ceilings sit 125 feet above the where you would stand. Spanish art was also on the list of top
destinations and in specific an art studio in a small village in the city of
Saint Goussaud was highly noted for their art on display. Along with these beautiful works of art, the
art of nature is also mentioned as being a different form of appreciation of
the culture that one experiences on the trail.
Specifically, the individual talks about crossing the Dordogne River at
sunset and enjoying all the beautiful colors.
