Hello reader,
As you may have observed, the world is a distracting and busy place - full of activity that does not contribute to the devotion to the divine nor does it encourage it. The world pulls us away from our original purpose to appreciate God and all creation. Sociologist Zygmunt Bauman describes the world with his coined term "liquid modernity" on page 94-95. This fully means that we as a society have changed to the point that all our relationships are viewed as temporary consumables meant to be used before their inevitable demise, little is appreciated in its permanent form, including God and the world we live in. I find it is necessary, especially in times such as these, to take time to yourself and appreciate those around you and the very ground on which you stand. We may not be here forever, but our relationship with God is, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not is up to you. In the end the world has become a fragile place, yet it always seems to have been so. We are more interconnected than ever, through trade, blood, and the internet. Should something collapse, all indeed will if there is no one left to stand behind the divine principles laid down by God.
