Noland Trail
When class met on the
Noland Trail I learned how to identify many different types of leaves belonging
to their tree. I also learned about different flowers, different berries, and
different vines. After the group discussion was over I rode my bike up and back
near the lions bridge. Watching the leaves fall it made me reflect on the
different seasons. The seasons in Virginia are very strange. One day it could
be 75 and the next day it could be 45. Looking outside though it is very clear
that it is fall and time for the leaves to change and the air to bring coolness
to it. Thinking about the leaves falling and their lack of weight as they drift
through the air made me relate my life to the life of a leaf. We start out in
our mothers womb and then grow into our own people, but we don’t fully separate
from our parents until we grow up and on the way we change in many different ways.
A leaf starts out attached to the tree and through that time it changes texture
some and turns colors and eventually falls off.
