Outside Reading 3

Outside Reading

Today I broke down Acts 13:42-52.
-true salvation is not based on the works it is found when one completely abides by God
-not based on whether they go to Church
-the Bible is not accepting to all therefore the preacher won't be
-42&43: the Jews were intrigued
-44:true response about to be heard
-45: the Jews were jealous once they saw the crowd and began to speak of blasphemy before Paul had even started. Jews trying to prove that everything Paul had said the week before was false. they resented the fact that the Message was available to the Jews and Gentiles. Jews only wanted God's grace their way and wiling to walk away from their Messiah to have it their way.
-46: Paul spoke to Jews first because of their hatred for the Gentiles and therefore deeming themselves unworthy of eternal life. The Jews rejected the message by not accepting Gentiles so the Gentiles heard His truth through the church.
You're own unbelief has put you in Hell.
48: when the Gentiles heard the gospel would be spoken to them they were thrilled.
God sovereignly appoints.
Calvinist, want to believe in their own salvation and think they can do everything without God and want to take responsibility on their own.
-EVANGELISM has to occur for those who do not know Christ
-can't just sit around and act like The Word is being spread to      those that don't know it
-obedient pastor teaches God's Word and not a feel good, self relying message.
-52: followers filled with Joy and continued to be lead by the Holy Spirit which means they continued to share God's Word
-Jesus says, "Are you with me, or are you against me?"
