Outside reading

The story of Noah from the Bible is a story about God telling Noah to build and ark and put two of every animal on it. God said there would be a flood to destroy everyone because they were doing things that didn’t please him. Noah could take his family and the animals on the ark where they would be for a year before the flood came lasting 40 days and 40 nights. Part of this story that is not commonly highlighted by people is Genesis 9:21 which is, When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. Later on in this chapter it explains that one of his sons find him and gets his brothers to help him. Only one son questions his father’s authority, but the other two continue to respect him and obey him. This part of the Noah story can be looked at as even though someone you respect and look up to makes mistakes they are human just like you. They will mess up and that doesn’t make them horrible and doesn’t mean you should stop respecting them. God still loved Noah and still made the covenant with him after this showing his forgivingness.
