Walking through the Nolan as class, there were many observations Dr. Redick pointed out to us about the different plants. Something the peaked my interest was the information he told us on the dogwood tree. It is rumored to have been the tree that the wood for Jesus' Cross was made of and that the tree never grows large enough to make another cross. I found that so powerful. Although I do not know the truth in it as Dr. Redick mentioned. The though of it made me think how powerful nature is and being in it is truly to be in contact with God. Going to church and praying is powerful and I would not trade that experience, but nature is a great place to commune with God and enter into a conversation with Him who created us surround by the original and natural forms of many of His other creations.
