Freedom on the Noland Trail
John Gatta said, “Nature runs wild because God, too, is an untamed lover of freedom.” Seeing all the birds and squirrels running free through the Noland Trial is part of God’s freedom. God created the birds with wings and the squirrels with legs to run and fly as far and for as long as they want because of freedom. God created this freedom because he wants to be free. Lane says, “place perceives itself through us.” This relates to the previous quote because if the nature runs wild then so do we. When I was walking, I felt the freedom that the animals had, I felt like I could go as far as I wanted to because of the new found freedom I felt. I felt the freedom that the animals felt as they flew and soared through the sky or climbed the highest trees. The place touched me because I let it touch me. I let the trail fill me with the freedom that God wanted nature to have because I allowed it to fill me with the freedom.
