Everyone relates to nature differently and individually. I relate to nature in the fact that it calms me down and provides stress relief. Others have more of a spiritual connection. Henry David Thoreau stated in The Atlantic in 1862 that “When we walk, we naturally go to the fields and woods: What would become of us, if we walked only in a garden or a mall?". During my walk on the trail, I automatically take a deep breath and enjoy the literal "breath of fresh air". I love looking at nature especially in the fall because you can't help but admire the beauty of your surroundings. Immediately my problems cease and I enjoy the pause from reality. It's nice because sometimes you become so overwhelmed with the hustle and bustle of your everyday life that you forget that nature stands still and is a constant. It's very gratifying and peaceful. These were my thoughts on the Noland Trail experience.
